Overview of the Design
The West Liberty Dentistry custom dental website was an exciting project for our team to work on. In getting to know the team at the practice, we realized that the city they live is very important to them. We wanted to reflect that with a life-sized image of their hometown – Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Throughout the website, we were able to show off the practice’s reputation for excellence with scrolling patient reviews and a smile gallery showing the types of real life results patients might expect under the care of this practice. We also included an extensive services section, with information about the types of conditions the dentists treat and the services they provide.
Use of Colors
This website uses blue and white – colors synonymous with dentistry and medical professionals. They are crisp, cool, neutral shades that complement each other well and do not detract from the overall message of the website.
Analysis of Design Elements
This is a highly visual dental web design that uses a lot of imagery to convey a message and set the tone of the site. We used a full width layout that makes use of all of the available screen space, unlike traditional sites that leave white margins. The design is both modern and professional – something that will stick out in the mind of viewers who are searching for a new provider. Many of the image tiles that link to other areas of the website respond when hovered over, seeming to jump off the page at the viewer. We also created a subtle three-dimensional effect where the background of the cityscape seems to remain stationary while the viewer scrolls through text and menu options in the foreground move.
Marketing Aspect
We make it easy for site visitors to schedule an appointment directly from the home page. A promotions page allows West Liberty Dentistry to create special offers throughout the year and display them on the website. For example, a ‘new patient special’ might be used on the promotions page to encourage visitors to make a first-time appointment at a discounted rate.
Since we know many dental patients choose their providers based on credentials and experience, we also included the logos of reputable professional organizations that the practice is affiliated with, such as the American Dental Association and the local chamber of commerce. At the bottom of the home page, we placed links to the practice social media accounts, where new, existing, and potential patients can keep up with special promotions, events, and other information pertaining to the practice.
Image the Website Represents
West Liberty Dentistry is so well-grounded in the Pittsburgh area, they even made it part of their logo. As an ode to their city, we placed a sweeping view of the Pittsburgh skyline – including its beautiful bridges – as the header image background on the home page. The remainder of the photos used throughout the website are of the office itself, as well as beautiful, healthy smiles that West Liberty Dentistry helps to achieve and maintain in its patients.
